he year was 1820, and as the Wood family traveled from
Tennessee they decided on a dwelling place. That place would
be up the Little Red River in the small community of
Pumpkintown, nestled in White County, Arkansas.
As the years have turned into decades and the decades into
centuries, the Wood family continues to own, farm, and ranch
the same land their ancestors settled on. Bring hands on and
fully involved with the land, livestock, breeding and
raising of the cattle and horses has always been the Wood
family's priority.

ood Ranch sits on 8,000 acres of pasture and farm land.
Since1956 the ranch has been home to fine ranch-bred
American Quarter Horses. The Woods take pride in that most
of the broodmares were bred on the ranch or by an AQHA Best
Remuda Award recipient.

stallions: Shining King Cody, Blue Diamond Hancock, and BP
Smart Little Pep. The Shining King Cody mare, bred by
Shining Spark, and Blue Hancock are NHRA money earners and

cows - from the Waggoner Ranch - and breeding them with
Angus bulls. The ranch also maintains a her of Longhorn
cows, as well as breeding 100 AQHA ranch horse mares each
year. Many of these fine animals have originated from the
W.T. Waggoner Estate. Other broodmares, owned by the Woods,
were bred directly on the ranch or by the 6666's and RA
